Times Now, the newschannel dominated by everlooming omnipresence of Arnab Goswami which is becoming fast an irritant ( It seems like they dont have any other staffers except Arnab), has surprisingly come out with an excellent series called Total Re-call aired on Saturday Evenings 8-9pm and repeat on Sunday if you dont want to miss Big fight on Saturday evening.
The one hour programme is an excellent compilation of old Hindi film music videos organised on a particular theme, which keeps changing every week: Mohd.Rafi, Shakeel,Sahir,Rajendra Krishen,Naushad, etc. Whataever be the theme, the compilation videos are cleverly used from the same bank. Except for some stars like Shammi Kapoor etc. and the sons of the Singers/Lyricists, the so-called other experts are lack lustre.
The new series started from this week, on Indian Classics, the major pathbreaking movies like Baiju Bawra,,Naya Daur, Mother India etc. is also very nice.The series is quite a hit and has become quite popular with huge TRP points. Weaning away the viewers on Saturday evenings is not an easy job, but Times Now has managed to pull it off with this hit formula of nostalgia laced with superb music of yester years which everyone yearns for. Congrats to Arnab from keeping himself out of the programme.
